Hannah
I never thought I'd be one of those girls — but here I was, standing in front of my closet, feeling utterly defeated because I had nothing to wear.
Every outfit I tried fell short in some way, and it was getting to the point of where I wanted to set all my clothes on fire just so that I never had to make another decision like this again. Throwing aside a pink halter dress that made me look like a school teacher, I reached into my closet for a tan bodysuit that Bailey had given me. Holding it up against my front, I scrutinized my reflection in the mirror attached to my closet door.
I... liked it. I think.
Making a noise of frustration, I threw the bodysuit onto the growing pile of rejected clothes on my bed. I needed to make a good impression and I didn't think a bodysuit would do that, no matter how great my ass looked in it. I needed something that screamed "I'm not just fucking your son because he's famous" — in other words, something respectful. Something demure.
When Tristan invited me to dinner with his parents, I panicked. My first instinct was to say no and run away like a little bitch, But we were working on that. So I pushed down my anxiety and agreed. After all, that's what you did when you were someone's girlfriend.
Because I was his girlfriend.
Despite it only being a little over three weeks since we had officially become a couple, I still couldn't wrap my head around it. The idea felt foreign to me. I mean, how could I ever have imagined that someone like him would be mine? Younger me would have died if she knew Tristan Beckett would be her boyfriend one day.
Feeling overwhelmed, I reached for my phone and dialed Bailey's number, seeking her help and advice. She answered the phone panting. For a second I was worried, but then she managed to speak between labored breaths.
"Just hit the gym for the first time in...ever. Why did I think this was a good idea? It huuuurts," she whined, and I heard her groan as her back hit the bed.
Chuckling at the pain in her voice, I asked, "What made you decide to go in the first place? I thought working out was for people with too much time on their hands?"
"I saw the light, Hannah. And he was beautiful."
"He?" A thought occurred to me. "Wait, what happened with that guy from the football festival — Jared? I realize I never actually asked you what happened with him. I'm sorry about that."
She made a sound of disgust when I mentioned his name. "Don't be. He tried to get me to have a threesome with some other girl. I'm open-minded, but not that open-minded. I just don't like sharing. Needless to say, I dropped him quicker than he could finish saying threesome."
My brows furrowed as I blinked in shock. "Oh my God, I'm sorry that happened to you. That's so gross of him. What the fuck is wrong with some men?"
She sighed in agreement. "Yeah, but I was never interested in a relationship either — so it worked out in the end."
