[A/N - whoopsies, dropped another (slightly more chill this time but also i have no clue) smut scene at the very end there]
It was like they'd somehow unlocked another dimension of togetherness.
Evan wanted to map out every inch of Kei's body and Kei— he treated Evan like he was holding something precious. His eyes lit up at everything, every new freckle, every movement.
At some point however, Evan registered Gus, sitting at the corner of the bed, just... staring.
"Oh my god," Evan uttered, breaking away, "I can't, not with Gus here," he laughed.
Kei turned, pausing at the sight of the cat staring. "Jesus."
Gus was judging them, Evan could see it in those eyes.
Kei turned back, "Should I take him out?"
"Maybe—" Evan managed. "I sort of feel bad though..."
Kei sat up and picked Gus up. At that, Gus yowled, batting at Kei. "Agh, stop it you little menace," Kei grumbled, padding over to his door wearing just a pair of black boxers, "I'm sorry, you can't watch, it's weird—"
He set Gus down on the other side of the door, and sheepishly shut him out. Briefly, a pissed off meow sounded from outside. "Oh get over it Gus, you can come back later—" Kei called through the door. Then, the meows stopped, and Kei turned back.
"That felt like I was forsaking my child," Kei uttered, padding back to bed, "Am I a bad cat parent?"
Evan shook his head, laughing as Kei plonked himself back next to him. They tangled together wearing just boxers. It felt like they just slotted together like this.
"Letting him watch was worse."
Kei nodded, leaning over and kissing his neck. "Probably."
Evan groaned, "God, I wish we didn't have to leave this weekend—"
Kei hummed, "We'll manage."
"That a promise?"
Kei laughed, curling his hands around Evans waist. "Sure, maybe I'll bribe Ollie to cover for us or something."
"Please," Evan uttered, "I can't go the whole weekend, seriously—"
Kei nodded, "Me neither."
"There's still tonight?" Evan said slowly.
Kei's fingers traced over his skin. "That there is—"
"Mhm," Evan laughed breathily, as Kei sucked a mark onto his chest, as if replacing the now faded ones.
Then, seemingly reluctantly, Kei pulled back, "Should I not? Y'know, with your parents and everything." Then, as if realising, he checked the time. It was almost nine. "Wait, don't you have that curfew now?"
Evan paused. Well. He didn't know what he had with his parents now.
He thought for a second, his brain trying to come up with something, but even a tiny lie felt wrong, not after everything. Kei was too lovely, too absolutely, ridiculously wonderful to lie to.
He couldn't lie, so he just— he shrugged, trying to play it down.
"We sort of uh, had a bit of a fight," he mumbled.
Kei stared, brow furrowing in worry. "A fight?"
Evan sighed, "My dad, he's just— never going to be okay with this, with anything I do really. It was stupid, I shouldn't have fought back about it..." He trailed off, then sighed, "My parents have been ignoring me, like, not a word since Sunday."
