Raven's POV

"Fencing?" I scoffed. "That's all you have? No boxing?"

"Principal Lockwood said it's too dangerous," Chloe explained.

"Plus none of us are interested," Sophie said and I clenched my jaw.

I stood up.

"Where are you going?" Chloe asked.

"To find a better way to release my anger," I answered as I left the lounge.

I began to walk through the quiet hallways, my footsteps echoing in the emptiness.

I needed to get rid of this anger before it builds up and I snap at someone.

I needed to move, to breathe, to find something or someone to take my mind off things.

As I turned a corner near the unused stairwell, I caught sight of a familiar figure slumped against the wall.

His female body guard was only a few inches away from him.

He had his knees drawn up and his glasses resting in his hand as he stared down at the floor.

I tried to mind my own business and leave, but my feet just wouldn't let me.

He didn't notice me at first, but when I stepped closer, his head snapped up.

He quickly wiped his reddened eyes and put back on his glasses.

Carter must have said something to him.

I contemplated on what to say.

I'd never been much of a comforting person.

Actually, I'm the last person you would want to comfort you.

He immediately got up and started to walk away, but I grabbed his arm.

His guard coughed and I dropped my hand from him.

He looked down at me. "If you're going to be rude or say something hurtful, don't bother."

"I wasn't," I answered as I looked down. "I just wanted to see if you were okay."

When he didn't answer, I looked up to see him still watching me.

"I'm tired," he finally said.

I nodded. "Okay, I think they have some bedrooms where students can sleep. On the third floor, right?"

He shook his head. "I'm tired of not being able to live my life."

I shifted my stance as I crossed my arms. "What do you mean?"

"Do you still want that ten thousand?" He asked and I nodded.

"Of course I do," I told him and he pulled out his wallet.
