Raven's POV
"Purpose of visit?" The front guard asked me for a third time.
I sighed. "I told you already I'm just here to see Cassian. We're friends."
"I'm afraid I can't let you in, ma'am," he said as he turned away from me.
"Will you at least tell him that I'm outside?" I asked as I failed to mask the frustration in the tone.
He ignored me and I sighed before trying to reach Cassian's phone again.
Someone cleared their throat before I turned to his Cassian's female body guard.
"It's okay, Paul. I'll take her," she said as she held the gate open for me.
I sighed out of relief before we began walking to the mansion.
It was roughly the same size as Sergei and Alana's mansion.
Before we entered, she stopped me.
"I've been protecting Mr. Cassian since he was in diapers," she said. "Hurt him and I'll hurt you."
I raised my eyebrow before stepping inside. "Noted."
The interior was way more extravagant than Sergei and Alana's.
There were golden accents, high ceilings, and a chandelier that looked like it cost the same amount as this mansion.
Cassian was standing near the grand staircase, his shoulders tensed as he adjusted his glasses.
When he saw us, he offered a small, nervous smile. "Everything good?"
"Peachy," I said with a straight face as I walked up to him.
I looked back at the bodyguard and she had her arms crossed as she stared at me.
I turned back to him. "Can we go somewhere more private?"
He nodded. "Yeah, we'll go up to my room."
As we did so, she began following behind us.
I paused and looked at him. "Do you want to do this or not?"
He sighed before looking back at her. "Susan, we need time."
She walked closer to us. "You and I may have made a deal, but I am still going to protect you. This girl can try to strangle you to death if left alone with you."
"I'm not going to strangle him," I promised.
She ignored me. "Mr. Cassian, I am breaking enough protocol as it is."
He looked down. "Can you at least stand outside?"
She frowned. "I don't think that's wise, sir."
"Well, it's not up for discussion," he snapped at her which surprised the both of us.
