Raven's POV

We silently worked as we sat in the private room.

When I said "we", I meant me doing the research while Cassian blankly stared at his laptop's screen.

I groaned before slamming down my notebook to get his attention, but he didn't even flinch.

"Cassian," I called out to him, but he didn't move.

I tapped him and he finally blinked. "Yes?"

I sighed, leaning back in my chair. "Are you planning to help soon?"

He looked down at his laptop before beginning to type. "I am helping."

I silently watched him before moving closer to him.

"Are you still thinking about those two idiots?" I asked and he didn't reply.

I closed his laptop before getting up to lock the door.

His gaze stuck to my body before his shoulders stiffened. "What-what are you doing?"

I leaned against the door as I faced him with a small smirk. "Making sure we don't get interrupted."

"For?" He asked as he leaned back in the chair.

"You'll find out soon enough," I said as I approached him before getting on his lap.

His instinctively gripped my waist so that I wouldn't fall. "Raven."

"You need a distraction, no?" I asked and he stayed quiet as he adjusted his glasses.

"We can't," he finally said and I felt way more disappointed than I should have.

"Why not?"

"We're at school," he explained. "Someone could see us."

"Hence, the locked door," I argued and he sighed before leaning into my chest.

I placed a hand on his back, feeling the tension in his shoulders.

"In order to be free, you have to take risks," I said softly, trying my best to be nice to him.

He finally looked up at me and his pale, stormy green eyes struck me.

I had never really paid attention to them, considering he always had his glass on.

But now we were close up, I could see everything.

"The colour of your eyes," I muttered. "They're beautiful. If I were you, I wouldn't stop looking at them."

He gave me a soft smile. "Trust me, you would. They're nothing to look at."

I furrowed my eyes before his lips suddenly brushed mine.

I froze for a moment, but quickly went with the flow because I had been longing for it.
