Cassian's POV
I blinked to stop my eyes from burning due to looking at my laptop screen nonstop.
I was finally getting somewhere on leadership dynamics after Raven and I spent an hour on my bed pursuing each other.
"Have you gotten anywhere yet?" I glanced at her fast asleep on my bed with her laptop on her chest.
A tiny smile creeped on my face before I got up and took the laptop off of her.
Her eyes opened a little before she sat up. "What time is it?"
"It's a little after eleven," I told her and she jumped up out of bed.
"I should get going," she said as she quickly packed her things.
I quickly stopped her. "Don't."
She sighed. "Cassian, I can't stay here with you. It's too much."
"It's late," I told her.
She shrugged. "Doesn't matter to me. It's not like I'll get in trouble."
I hesitated to ask, but I did nonetheless. "Do you live by yourself?"
She shook her head. "It's complicated."
"Stay," I repeated.
"Your parents are home, they wouldn't want a girl spending the night. They could get the wrong idea," she argued.
"They also wouldn't want me sending a girl home alone in the middle of the night," I argued back. "Look, it's Friday night so we don't have school tomorrow. Stay."
I went to my drawer and pulled out a T-shirt and shorts that would fit her.
I pointed to the door at the left. "The bathroom's there."
She cursed me under her breath before taking the clothes and heading to the bathroom.
I ran a hand through my hair as I frantically glanced around my room to make sure everything looked presentable.
I doubted that she would care since we've already been in here three hours and a half.
The bathroom door creaked open, and I turned to see her step out.
Her hair slightly damp from washing her face.
She looked small in my T-shirt, the hem brushing her upper thighs.
I forced myself to look away. "What-what happened to the shorts?"
She stepped closer to me before forcing me to turn to her again. "I'll sleep better without them."
I swallowed hard and she crossed her arms.
"Don't make this weird," she warned.
I turned my head away again and ignored her words. "You can take the bed. I'll sleep on the floor or by my study desk."
