Raven's POV
I silently watched him sleep as the sunlight creeped through his curtains.
His features were relaxed, peaceful in a way I'd never seen before.
His chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm, and for a moment, the world felt quiet.
I felt the urge to reach out and brush the messy hair from his forehead, but my hand stayed still, gripping the blanket instead.
I scoffed.
Dopamine.
He thought he could use science to turn me on?
Maybe he did a little...just a little.
The door suddenly flew open before his father angrily stormed in. "Cassian, if you can't name this colour-"
When we locked eyes, both of us became shocked.
Cassian suddenly jerked up out of his sleep and immediately put on his glasses.
His father looked at him angrily. "Raven, I think it's time for you to go. Cassian has some studying he needs to do."
I immediately got out of bed. "Uh, yeah."
"Get appropriate before you leave this household," he looked on me judgementally before slamming the door behind him.
Cassian immediately stood up, still a bit disoriented. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," I said, grabbing my uniform and beginning to change. "I should probably get going."
"Stay for breakfast."
I shook my head. "No, you heard your dad. I have to leave and you have to study."
He looked down. "What he wants me to study is impossible."
I held up his head. "You're a smart man. Nothing is impossible for you."
He gave me an expression I couldn't quite decipher.
"See you on Monday," I said before giving a quick kiss on the cheek and grabbing my backpack.
I know he didn't want me to leave, but I wouldn't want to be the cause of him getting in more trouble.
I closed the door behind me and his father was right out there to greet me.
He pulled out his wallet. "How much do I have to pay you to forget about you spending a passionate night with my son?"
Passionate night?
My eyes immediately widened before I shook my head. "It's not what you think. There was a pillow between us."
He ignored me. "Were you two safe? My son is going to be a very influential person in this country and I cannot have any scandals."
I glared at him. "I said it's not what you think. We didn't do anything."
