Raven's POV
Chloe hugged me tighter as I tried to put my books in my locker.
She had practically been doing it for the whole day.
"I was expelled for like a day," I mumbled.
"I still missed you," she said, squeezing me tighter.
This has to qualify as attempted murder or something.
Sophie joined in and I groaned out loud.
Thankfully, I spotted Cassian walking down the hallway, so I was able to quickly escape from them.
"You can't run forever!" Chloe shouted and I ignored her.
He smiled. "Good to see you back in uniform."
I rolled my eyes as I matched his pace.
I glanced at Susan behind us. "Missed you at dinner last night."
She looked down at me for a second before glancing back up with a tiny smile.
I was slowly breaking down that cold facade she had up.
I turned to Cassian. "What do you know about Selene?"
He looked at me confused. "Selene?"
I nodded.
He thought for a second. "Well, she started working for my dad about ten years ago. She's super sweet and caring. Honestly, my dad wouldn't have been this far without her."
I slowly nodded.
"Why do you ask?"
"I think she and my brother had something going on and it looks like she ended things," I explained and he thought about it.
"Maybe they weren't meant to be," he concluded as he held the classroom door open for me.
I shrugged, still not believing Ryan actually liked someone—no, someone actually liked Ryan. "Maybe."

The class bed rang and everyone rushed out.
I began to walk, but my Psychology teacher, Ms. Lee, called me over.
I internally groaned as I walked up to her.
"Raven, I have to be honest," she started and I prepared myself to hear the worst. "When you first started, I expected nothing from you. You seem like one of those students who doesn't care about classes."
"But you have proven me wrong with that 90% you got on the exam," she smiled. "I'll be sure to tell Principal Lockwood that you're not just a troublemaker."
"Thank you," I said before walking away, but she held me back.
"I went through your file and I haven't seen you sign up for any colleges."
