Raven's POV

I yawned as I picked up the tennis racket and gave it a lazy swing.

This tennis shit was actually fun and I was surprisingly good at it after a few tries.

Chloe and I, along with two other girls, were playing for about an hour now.

"Alright, last round," Chloe called out, tossing the ball up and down.

Her ponytail swayed as she bounced on her toes. "Raven, you serve."

I grinned, gripping the racket tighter.

"Get ready to lose," I teased as I stepped into position.

"Oh, please," one of the girls on the other side of the net said. "You've had beginner's luck all day."

"Don't let them get into your head," Chloe warned me before sticking up her middle finger to the other girls.

I laughed as I tossed the ball in the air and swung the racket.

"No one can get into my head," I said as the ball sailed over the net and kicked off the round.

I was glad I was doing something a bit more...light hearted.

Cassian and I decided to spend the night at the cabin since it would too late when we get back.

And when I returned home, Ryan was angrily waiting on the porch.

I expectedly him to shout, but he didn't say anything.

He still hasn't said anything.

He just ignores me and it's driving me crazy.

The other side scrambled to return the ball, barely managing to send it back.

I sprinted forward, the racket meeting the ball with a sharp thwack that sent it flying into an empty corner of their court.

One for us.

Chloe and I high-fived each other before doing a stupid victory dance she forced me to learn.

Suddenly, I saw him walking to the basketball court, which was right beside us.

He hadn't spoken to me either.

I contemplated on whether to double text him or not, but negative thoughts kept racing through my mind.

What if I took things too far?

What if I scared him off with what I did?

What if he wanted to end things?

What if he thought things were weird between us now?

I felt a harsh pain in my cheek before looking down to see the ball bouncing in front of me.

"Focus Raven," Chloe snapped me out of my thoughts. "We can't lose to Sky and Mia."
