Raven's POV

"Holy shit," Chloe muttered with a shocked expression on her face.

"Yeah," I said, hitting the tennis ball a bit harder than usual with my racket.

Emma and Abigail had left an hour ago, so I was filling her in on all the drama in my life.

"I thought I would be your sister-in-law, but I guess stepmother can work," she said as we walked to the side to get some water.

"Gross," I said, throwing my water on her.

"Ryan's hot," she said. "Or should I say your dad now?"

I rolled my eyes and checked my phone.

Still no calls or texts from him.

I guess he was trying to give me space, but I wanted to show him how upset I was at him.

"I'm really sorry your parents kept that a secret from you, Raven," she said, getting a bit serious.

My lips quivered before a singular tear escaped my eye.

Then another and another before I was crying hysterically.

She quickly made us sit on the bench and pulled me into a hug.

"He watched me hurt, thinking I had lost my parents," I cried. "Knowing that he was my real dad."

"I don't think he wanted to hurt you," she tried to defend him. "And telling a lie like that for years is hard to admit."

"They might not have been your biological parents, but they raised you," she reminded me.

I quickly wiped my tears before leaning away from her.

Ryan and Selene aren't worth my tears.

And they could never take my grandparents' place.

"Let's go," I told her, picking up my water and racket. "I'm done for the day."

"Thank God!" She rejoiced before she gathered her things and we began walking to her driver.

"Looks like their date went on for long," Chloe smiled before pointing at Cassian and Sophie walking out the library.

Sophie had a big smile on her face as he walked her to her driver.

"They would make adorable, shy babies," Chloe frowned as Sophie got into her car.

Cassian turned slightly to see Chloe and I.

A cute smile appeared on his face before he raised his hand and waved at us.

Chloe happily waved back at him, but I didn't.

She nudged me. "You should go home with him and see if he liked the date or not."
