[A/N - GUYS, before we continue, i'm so aware i have colossally fucked up how actual volleyball tournaments work, but i committed to my weird version way at the beginning and going through and making it accurate to life actually makes me want to cry, SO— here we are... so please treat this story like the silly little work of fiction it is]
At this rate, Ethan was going to give them away by how much he was staring at Kei.
Coaches extra Sunday practice flew by.
They played well. Ethan held it together on the court, but at every break, he chased Kei down relentlessly, obviously looking for answers.
It seemed to relax Kei significantly as he understood that Ethan was still going to remain the exact same annoyingly incessant Ethan as he'd been before. At least in that regard, Evan appreciated his brother.
He watched as Kei chatted with Ethan. Evan hoped Kei wasn't saying anything that his brother would use against him, but lets face it, he probably was.
But if it made Kei feel normal, then hey, Evan couldn't care less.
Dan was there. His nose did look fucked up, it had a stupid looking bandage over it. Very satisfying. The prick watched Evan and Kei beadily, vengeance in his eyes as if waiting for them to slip up.
Evan paid him no heed, Kei only sent him a few disgruntled glances, which was an improvement.
He also, fucking hurt. Embarrassing. Truly.
Sports and sex— not a great combination, Evan quickly realised, as he was forced to move through the dull ache in his lower back, as well as his countless sore muscles, literally everywhere. He winced. Realistically, it wasn't even all that bad. He probably wouldn't have noticed it if he hadn't been forced through the over exaggerated volleyball motions.
But, here he was, dragged into extra volleyball.
Great. So very great.
Why did volleyball involve moving so much huh?
Maybe they'd overdone it a little... just maybe...
Evan snickered as Kei had to drag himself off to the bathroom to change so as to not get them both caught.
He promptly stopped laughing as he realised that he too was covered in marks and he would have to follow. Sure, Hugo and Luke had seen, but he didn't want to turn that into everyone.
Especially now that Ethan knew where they came from... Talk about embarrassing.
Sheepishly, he grabbed a change of clothes and shot after Kei.
The bathroom was empty as Evan scooted into the same stall. Kei laughed in surprise. "Hey."
Evan kissed him quickly, shutting the door. "Hey—"
Promptly, he swapped his gym shirt for a hoodie and Kei did the same. Then, Evan sat, waiting as Kei finished changing.
He looked up at him. Dang— he'd really done a number on Kei with the hickeys.
Evan laughed, "Oops."
Kei looked down, wincing at the damage. "It's fi—" he paused as the door clattered open.
Kei glanced at him nervously, going dead silent.
Quickly, Evan lifted his feet up off the ground, sitting on the toilet seat entirely so that his feet wouldn't be visible from the outside.
For a moment, it was only footsteps, the sound of a tap running, then a moment of nothing until the door opened then closed again.
"Yeesh," Kei muttered, turning for the door.
