Raven's POV

I sipped on my Frappuccino as Ryan, Selene, and I sat in complete silence at the downtown café.

Selene looked between Ryan and I before narrowing her eyes. "Seriously, what is going on between you two?"

I sipped my drink again, not willing to be the first one to talk.

"Hello, your mother is speaking to you," she said before turning to Ryan. "I'm the literal mother of your child, hello?"

He sipped his Frappuccino too.

He annoys the shit out of me.

He even got the same flavor as me just to torture me.

"I want you to come home," Ryan finally said and I paused, looking at him.

"What?"

His expression softened a little.

"Birdy, it feels like I don't know you anymore," he said. "You have a boyfriend now and I didn't even know."

I looked down. "It was recent. It's not like I kept it secret for seventeen years."

They both looked down, feeling bad and I sighed.

"I'm just saying that it's going to take a while for me to open up to you again," I told him. "I didn't mean to hurt you or keep it a secret."

"It's just that we aren't as close as we used to be," I said and he nodded.

"I get that, Birdy," he said. "I haven't been the best of dads, I know that."

"This is new to me too," he said before holding Selene's hand. "New to us."

"This road isn't going to be easy and we'll hit a few bumps along the way, but I want us to do it together," Ryan said before holding my hand too.

"I want you back home," he said. "And with your permission, I want your mom to move in too."

My eyes widened and so did Selene's.

I immediately nodded. "Of course, I'd love that."

There was only so much I could know about Selene from having meals.

If we lived together, I could spend all the time in the world with her and ask her unlimited questions.

I could see how she functions on a day-to-day basis.

"Selene?" Ryan looked at her, waiting for an answer.

"Getting to live with my baby and the man that I spent seventeen years missing?" She asked. "It's a no brainer—of course I'll live with you two."

I smiled before we began discussing plans.

I slowly made my way upstairs before knocking on Cassian's door.
