Cassian's POV
Chloe laughed as we sat in my corner together.
Turns out she isn't as bad as I thought she was.
She's actually...nice.
Genuinely nice.
Not the fake sincerity that everyone around here gives.
"Thanks for accepting my apology," she said. "I think that you and Raven are a good couple."
"Yeah, I do, too," I smiled as I looked down. "I'm going to tell my dad about her tonight."
He was coming back from DC tonight, so I decided to just get it over with.
He can't stay mad forever.
Chloe's eyes widened. "What? Telling parents like ours about relationships is basically suicide!"
I shrugged. "I really like Raven and I don't want to hide it anymore."
"Mr. Hawthorne is going to have a fit," she frowned and I frowned too.
He's going to have more than a fit.
I've already started preparing for the physical punishments I was going to receive tonight when I tell him.
"Well, if you get kicked out, you're always welcomed at the mayor's house," she smiled.
"I'll probably have to take up your offer tonight," I joked, but there was no humour.
I really might have to.
The door opened before Sophie walked in.
Chloe smiled before waving at her to come over and she did.
"Hi guys," she smiled, sitting down next to me.
We both greeted her.
"Where's Raven?" Chloe frowned, looking at her watch. "She should've finished showering by now.
I frowned checking to see if she had sent me a text, but she didn't.
"I think I saw her commenting out of the showers," Sophie said. "But Carted walked by and she pulled him in."
"Carter?" Both Chloe and I asked at the same time.
"What were they doing together?" Chloe asked, a hint of anger in her tone.
Sophie shrugged. "I don't know. I only saw them for a brief moment."
"It's probably nothing," I gave Chloe a small, comforting smile. "She'll tell us about when she comes in."
Chloe looked down.
"I just don't want her getting into anymore fights," she said. "Or I don't want Carter setting her up for something. He's such an ass."
