[A/N - i'm weirdly excited to go back and edit this whole story lmao...]
Evan had a problem.
Actually, he had a lot of problems.
One, he was worried about Kei. Two, he'd been kicked out, well, basically... Three, Kei had been kicked out too, again, sort of. Four, he hurt. Like a lot. He'd decided that yes, there was actually something wrong with his hip, and no— it wasn't going away.
In fact, it was getting worse.
Evan was about to tear his leg off as pain radiated up and down from his hip with every jolt of the car. He bit back a wince as Oliver turned the car.
He was fine. He was fine. He was fine. He was fine.
Was he kidding himself? Probably, would he keep doing it? Absolutely.
Now that his adrenaline had well and truly worn off, he felt like he was in a daze as Oliver pulled up to a very, very large gate. His first thought was that they were pulling up to some kind of five star resort.
But— they were going to Oliver's house weren't they?
They were in a part of town Evan hadn't even set foot in. It was the hilltop estates. The wealthiest part of lakewood. It wasn't even far from his house, but he had never even been near it.
Neither Kei or Ethan seemed all that surprised as the gate opened and Oliver drove up a long driveway.
Oliver— lived here?
Somehow, Evan kept forgetting the fact that Oliver was rich. Considering the fact that he'd apparently just bought the school gym on a whim, he bloody well must be.
Evan couldn't help the way his jaw dropped despite everything going on.
Oliver had quite possibly the coolest house Evan had ever laid eyes on.
It was a mansion, absolutely, but god was it pretty.
The only thing running through his dazed, stressed out, pain filled, half awake brain, was that yes— this was definitely the house of two incredibly rich lesbians.
The house was all windows. So many fucking windows, some of which were stained glass pieces, creating a stunning patchwork where the light created pinpricks of colour on the driveway.
Evan was utterly floored, and distracted enough to momentarily forget the pain in his hip, along with everything else.
Surrounding the place was an absolutely obscene amount of plants. They wound up the stairway and curled around the giant windows. There was not just one pool outside, but a series of pools that wound through the foliage.
Oliver slid out of the car, the rest of them followed.
"Mom—" he called vaguely into the foliage, and ridiculously, a woman in pale pink overalls stuck her head out.
"Lo dear, give me a moment—" she hollered, ducking back down, then remerging with a bucket of plant scraps.
She had the same mousy brown hair as Oliver, only long, slightly greying and tucked into a bun. Her glasses were giant and round. She had a kind face.
"What room can I put these two in?" he questioned, pointing at a very dishevelled Evan and Kei.
The woman didn't seem phased in the slightest.
"Jen cleared the east wing—" the woman said, then she nodded at Kei as she approached with her arms wide. She reminded Evan of a sugar glider, swooping into land on them determinedly. "Good to see you Kei love."
